Over the weekend, I drove down to Portland, Oregon, in monsoon-like rain . . . with my birds and dog. Normally, driving is relaxing for me. I am away from distractions like e-mail and the Internet, and the Universe seems to like to speak to my Sagittarian Moon in the ninth house. However, the rain demanded heavy concentration on driving . . . and I was acutely aware that Saturn had just made its station and some people on the road would have slow reflexes. So, I decided to talk a little about Saturn, a little because otherwise an entire book could be devoted to just this one planet.
Saturn is the boundary of what is called the Ring-Pass-Not, the perimeter of the known planetary system in ancient times. Leaving out 90% of “the book” and focusing on two key matters is going to take some discipline on my part, but let’s start with how Saturn is seen from the outside. Saturn represents authority, some of it acquired by seniority and some by tasks delegated to those selected by the power behind the veil. In most cases, even presidents of countries and corporations serve at the discretion of those whose control is seldom seen by the majority. In short, Saturn can be forced to step down. This can occur through scapegoating, loss of confidence, capriciousness, or perhaps senility or retirement. Regardless, one cannot hold onto prestigious positions if higher ups are displeased.
We can easily apply this tenet to current events and watch to see what happens now that Saturn is no longer retrograde.
However, my topic for today is not political. It is about the cycles of manifestation. Saturn is at the very beginning of Pisces (tropical astrology, not sidereal). In the broadest sense, I believe this wraps up the loose ends of the Piscean Age. Yes, it has been through Pisces many times, but in the context of the termination of this cycle of civilization, I was shown, in visions, that the flaws would be discovered when there was emphasis on Scorpio. Publicity would occur with the transits through Sagittarius. Disgust with the status quo would be beyond repair by the end of the transits of Pluto and Saturn through Capricorn, seeding of the Aquarian Age would take a quantum leap in Aquarius, and now the loose ends have to be wrapped up.
This was shown to me in 1972 and so far everything has occurred as expected, but what I would like to emphasize today is that Saturn also rules manifestation. In essence, we cannot create what we cannot imagine. We cannot imagine if we do not trust our own inspiration and inner guidance . . . and if we cannot reflect on what we want to create or perhaps what we are here to create.
We are like actors and actresses on a stage. We get the script for a role we are to play, rehearse the role, and when we have learned it sufficiently, we begin to perform, usually in small theaters, like our homes or schools or towns. We rarely start out world famous. Initially, a lot of what we learn is achieved through crafting of an image, memorizing certain particulars that support the image, and this takes study. Then, after practicing, we may discover a nuance and introduce a unique interpretation. We begin to manifest originality and trust in our capacity to feel comfortable innovating. Then, we package up our talents and make a profession out of a study or hobby. Recognition spreads a little beyond our quite safe inner circle, and we venture further and further out into the world.
Then, we form alliances with “strangers” who may become partners. This is very different from family or coaches or teachers because these people seem to appear out of nowhere; but they become influential, and we have to learn to compromise and perhaps also to share the benefits of having a craft or talent or asset that is valued by others. What, however, do those important others see in us and why do they want to form bonds? We need to take time to assess motivations and the compatibility of goals. We make a lot of effort; and when Saturn reaches the top of the chart, we “get what we deserve” which can be “good” or “bad” depending on what we deserve. For some people, it is the end of the road in public terms; and for others, it is a time of recognition that may come in the form of promotions, awards, and new opportunities. Then, we ride the wave, share more, debug the things that went wrong, and face the arduous task of choosing between retirement or reinventing ourselves.
The actor or actress reads scripts of various roles and decides to manifest a completely new identity with Saturn crossing the ascendant. For some, this means more time on the golf course or catching up on reading the books that have been gathering dust. For others, they feel mature and ready for something major, but they have to build almost from scratch.
For those with Pisces rising, like yours truly, it may take two years before others realize that the world is changing irrevocably. Obviously, it is those with the vision who initiate, and they often spend a lot of time talking to the wind before someone listens. So I am dedicating this post to others who wear my kind of sandals, people who sense that this is the time to manifest a new reality, not the time to recover what is vanishing before our very eyes. However, the point I want to make that is relevant to everyone is that there are cycles, and we play different roles in different cycles. Whether or not we are professional actors or actresses, we define ourselves in certain ways and wear costumes that are suitable for those roles, but at various times in life, we simply decide to play a different part. This transformation can take a very minor tweak or one that is profoundly serious. This depends largely on the amount of responsibility one is equipped to carry.

ALWAYS Ingrid, I love your sharing and generosity on thoughts and wisdoms. I am wearing my sandals right there with you. XOXO
I align with this: "...the time to manifest a new reality, not the time to recover what is vanishing before our very eyes...." Great post!
