This post is based entirely on my personal experiences . . . meaning nothing is from textbooks or the Internet much less social fads that come and go with the shifting tides. My “education” on the endocrine came as a sort of download at a time when Jupiter and Neptune were conjunct by transit to my Sagittarius Moon (1972) and I was blessed with several years of numerous kinds of extended awareness. I had been invited to speak at a conference and the entire system came in about 40 minutes while drafting a paper that was actually never presented due to censorship.
The simplest way to start this post would be to explain that the endocrine system is a direct precipitation of the chakras which, in turn, are derived from a combination of our soul intent, i.e., destiny, and previous incarnate experience. As we master certain abilities, the chakras develop momentum and this influences the development of the endocrine glands and their secretions. This involves everything from the adrenal glands and the fight or flight mechanism to the insights and awareness of the higher chakras.
A colleague once criticized me for using very strong language when arguing that meddling with the endocrine system is reprehensible. She felt I should tone it down, but I said then and will continue to insist that my choice of words was absolutely correct. Yes, occasionally, there are extenuating circumstances in which interventions are warranted but for the most part meddling not only goes against Nature but against the logic and “plans” for our incarnation.
For today, I would like to address the epidemic of gender dysphoria. We are born with certain arrangements of the chakras and endocrine glands, and we have experiences, reactions to experiences, social pressures, fads, and sensitivities that may prompt us to want to make changes in order to adapt or to fit in with the prevailing winds.
In terms of gender, most of us have had lives as both males and females, and the current global situation may persuade us to favor one gender over another, but there is nothing new about this. I have regressed hundreds of people in order to facilitate their recall of past lives. Some were soldiers, some were accused of witchcraft, and there were many who cross dressed to avoid conscription or perhaps being burned at the stake. We also have solar and lunar influences, one luminary being more influential than another. In short, we favor a certain bias and this can be psychological and/or sociological since the female influences are lunar and the male influences tend to be more solar. We may feel closer to one parent over the other or decidedly uncomfortable with one parent or perhaps a teacher, coach, priest, or other figure in our lives.
In my experience, it is wiser to investigate the origins of the bias than to attempt to fix a problem through gender reassignment. It is especially “reprehensible” to intervene with hormones and surgery and doubly “reprehensible” to do so with minors. Hormonal intervention creates all kinds of confusion and chaos, but surgery is irreversible and almost never justifiable. Yes, there are medical crises that can sometimes warrant drastic measures, but peer pressure or advice from confused adults, even doctors, is not a reason to tinker much less to mutilate a body.
In my long career, I have had very little direct contact with gender reassignment. One client chose, as an adult, to undergo a lengthy process of transforming from an electrifying woman to a mousy man. Years of psychotherapy, cross dressing, hormonal supplements, and surgery followed. The one question no one asked in this process was once identifying as a man, would the social life involve dating and perhaps marrying a woman or a man. I was dumbfounded that such an obvious issue was skipped over, both by the psychiatrists and the individual making the changes. After some stammering and confusion, the client said, “Well, I guess I would be dating women.”
Another “case” involved a man who worked as a male professionally but socialized and traveled as a woman, wigs and hormones but no “chop chop” as the person put it. The situation was interesting to observe because there were many hobbies and conversations that we would tend to associate with male tendencies but there could be a deluge of tears if an earring was misplaced, clearly an exaggeration even for a hormonally distressed woman.
I have nothing whatsoever against trying out various manifestations of the self. It is like acting, and we are all on a stage and can, with some training, learn many roles; but when it comes to hormones and elective surgery, I feel that therapy is preferable to physical modifications.
Basically, we need to accept that mistakes are not made on the soul level. They occur when we have not mastered our roles for the current incarnation. So, we need to begin by understanding ourselves, and this is not generally taught by either family or school. It is a psychospiritual process that usually begins in adulthood though it can start earlier if precocious.
Environmental Havoc
It was quite a few decades ago that fish were discovered to have been affected by estrogenic substances in water. Many were not sexually differentiated nor capable of procreation. The handwriting was on the wall, and I spent many years working on protocols with a German abbot who was concerned about this issue, both among school boys and monks. Hormones are very powerful and potentially “altering” so we should be careful. There are natural hormones of both human and animal origin, synthetic hormones, and so-called bioidentical hormones. All are potentially potent, but the “accidental” exposures are often to xenohormones in plastics. These are estrogenic in action and can have a powerful effect on both males and females. They are also ubiquitous which means we cannot entirely escape them.
While I would like to believe that even xenoestrogens can bring us more in touch with the Earth Mother and our desire for safety and security, it is not clear that the hormones are responsible for whatever back to Nature leanings one has. This said, I will close this post now with an assertion that while I have put the emphasis on hormones that are gender specific, my position is that tampering with any hormone is something that should only be considered in medically serious situations. This said, doctors themselves often do not have training that allows them to prescribe safer alternatives so you have to acquire the knowledge on your own.
