Prayers for Inner Peace
“The Sound of Freedom” is being premiered on the day we celebrate our independence. It is a documentary about child trafficking and millions of people are about to see a lurid underground enterprise that is going to bring tears to many, anger to most, and closure to a few who probably never imagined what happened after their child went missing.
Over the last week, I have spent countless hours cataloguing everything I can remember about Morrnah Simeona, a mentor to whom I will always be eternally grateful. I have written a prayer that is consistent with her style of teaching and want to share it with you. Please feel free to share it with others because the trauma of what is about to go viral is going to require empathy, sympathy, compassion, and inner strength.
"I have been in darkness all these years not knowing what happened. I pray my child is healing in heaven now. I recognize that the point in time for closure has arrived and I have to face the facts and heal my grief and anger. I commit to finding inner peace that is sustainable. I pray that now that the situation has finally become clear that the trafficking will stop. If I am given the opportunity to heal, I will help others to deal with their losses and sadness. Make me strong enough to go on with life but grant me the peace I need inside so I bring no harm to anyone I meet on my Path."
