Matters of the Heart: On the Feast of Saint Valentine, may you elevate the ones you love and cherish or find the love you seek. Either way a true love should always come from the Heart.

Every moral deed and every physical action in human life is connected in the human heart. Only when we truly understand the configuration of the heart will we find the true fusion of these two parallel and independent phenomena: moral events and physical events. (Rudolf Steiner).

Lovely post! Happy Valentines!

I love Don Quixote. The music is unbelievable!

Elena's found same piece performed by another couple. Her comments are below:

"Here is this Don Quixote piece performed by the legendary duo on stage and in life, Vladimir Vasiliev & Ekaterina Maximova, showcasing the pure technique and style of Vaganova Academy and harmony between partners: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9oPfK0jA9s

here is an excerpt from this variation, where Maksimova & Vasiliyev are dancing in the native theatre environment with corresponding flooring - versus the previous presentation where they had to make this work on make-shift dance flooring put down over hard (cement) ground - a very difficult task! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhVhqeI_fCs"

The choice was not so difficult for me because I fell in love with the Nureyev production in Australia. There is a very long background story, and they were working against time and many other challenges; but it is an absolutely charming presentation from the costumes to the warmth of the personalities . . . and, yes, with a little something here and there, but it's my favorite overall, but I must have watched 6-8 other duos. I always appreciate your understanding of ballet and share your commitment to excellence.
