I have been waiting for this information!

Some people suffer from symptoms for years not knowing the cause - they keep going from doctor to doctor and get different opinions.

If the house is not remediated properly, it is a disaster! Most remediaters are not trained properly and cannot be trusted. But even if the house is free from mold, we have to know how to detox from the mold poisoning and how to prevent this from happening.

Mold Awareness is becoming a matter of great importance!

Is 'pink mold' found in showers toxic?

Expand full comment

"Pink mold" is usually a form of bacteria, Serratia marcescens, that feeds on soap scum; but there are also pink molds that are fungal. All are potentially dangerous, particularly if there are any open skin lesions. The spores can be inhaled and create respiratory issues. The spores can also be sucked up by the HVAC system and spread the contamination. In short, the issue should be addressed. Anyone who is symptomatic, allergic, or frail should have the remediation performed by an properly trained specialist. If tackling the job oneself, use serious protective measures such as respirator and gloves that are disposed of immediately when the task is completed.
